The culture and sports association Baunatal e. V. is the largest sports club in Baunatal and the North Hesse region with around 6,700 members .

history

Today's KSV Baunatal emerged from several associations from the former communities of Altenritte , Altenbauna and Kirchbauna in today's town of Baunatal. In general, the founding club of KSV Baunatal is the gymnastics club "Gut Heil" in Altenritte, founded in 1892. From 1903 to 1910 the “Arbeiter-Turn-Verein” and the “Deutsche Turnverein” were established in Altenritt, the “Deutsche Turnverein” and the “Arbeiter-Turnverein” in Altenbauna. At the same time, the "German Gymnastics Club Gut Heil" was formed in Kirchbauna. The year 1914 stood for the first football division in Altenritte. In 1918 the "Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Club" was founded in Altenbauna and in 1919 the "German Gymnastics Club" also revived. In 1921 a "Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Club" was founded in the Kirchbauna community, and in 1925 a handball division was opened.

Between 1933 and 1944, the gymnastics and sports club “Gut Heil” in Altenbauna, VfL Altenritte and FSV Kirchbauna were established. After the Second World War the "Kultur- und Sportverein Altenbauna" was founded in 1945, in Altenritte the "Kultur- und Sportverein Altenritte", in Kirchbauna the FSV Kirchbauna, which in 1955 was renamed the "Spielvereinigung Kirchbauna".

After the municipalities of Altenbauna, Altenritte and Kirchbauna merged to form the municipality of Baunatal on January 1, 1964, the two sports clubs KSV Altenritte and KSV Altenbauna also merged on April 13, 1964 under the name Kultur- und Sportverein Baunatal e. V. - KSV Baunatal. In 1970, the Kirchbauna sports club, which had since been renamed from FSV to SV, joined the club. In 1992 KSV Baunatal celebrated its centenary.

On June 4, 2014, the club's management was reorganized. An executive board consisting of four people (two full-time, two voluntary) was appointed. The executive board is appointed by the presidium, which consists of the president, two vice-presidents and four other presidium members, all of whom are volunteers. In addition, the Presidium has a supervisory and representative function.

In November 2016, KSV Baunatal came second in the competition for the future award of Hessian sport. The award comes with prize money of 10,000 euros. In 2017 KSV Baunatal looked back on 125 years of history.

Departments

The KSV Baunatal is divided into 28 departments with 40 sports. The offer ranges from competitive sports to amateur and recreational sports to sports in prevention and rehabilitation; KSV Baunatal also offers cultural activities. In addition to football , handball and athletics , cardiac sports , cheerleading , pétanque and dance are also offered.

The “Integration through Sport” program initiated by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is also supported by KSV Baunatal as a recognized base association. The central aim of the program is the integration of immigrants .

Badminton Department

Paul Bösl was two-time German runner-up in doubles and mixed in his age group in 2013.

Cheerleading Department

The "Seniors" of KSV Baunatal took part in 2010 as the first North Hessian cheerleading team to take part in the German championships and achieved third place. Before that, the Seniors had already become Hessian champions and vice regional champions.

Football department

The tradition of the football department began in 1914. On the occasion of a gymnastics festival, a football game was played for the first time on a meadow in Baunatal. From 1976 to 1979 the club played in the 2nd Bundesliga . During this time the KSV played its home games in the Auestadion in Kassel. The KSV then played in the amateur league of Hesse until 1991 , after which it was temporarily relegated to the state league . Since 1999 the KSV Baunatal belonged again to the highest Hessian league, the soccer Hessenliga . In the 2012/13 season, he was promoted to the Regionalliga Südwest. In the 2015/16 season, KSV Baunatal was relegated to the Hessen League again.

Handball department

The handball players of KSV Baunatal form a syndicate with TSV Guntershausen and TSV Hertingshausen. In the 2012/13 season, the A-youth handball players of the game community Hessenmeister were. The men rose to the top league in 2013.

Hockey Department

The men's team of the hockey department plays in the hall in the 4th Association League Hessen in the 2011/12 season.

Inline hockey department

The Pinguine Baunatal , founded in 1998, work as an inline hockey team in the IHD-Bundesliga organized by the DRIV . In 2014, 2015 and 2016 the penguins became German champions three times in a row.

Bowling Department

The women of KSV Baunatal secured the Hessen championship in the 2010/11 season, the men the championship in the regional league, which is connected with promotion to the regional league in the 2011/12 season.

Outdoor cycling department

The cycling outdoor department is also successful on a national and international level. Hilmar Schneider became Vice European Champion at the Duathlon European Championships on the long distance in April 2013.

Sports acrobatics department

Sports acrobats Janina Huck and Marcel Becker from KSV Baunatal won the mixed pairs title at the 2011 German championship in Dresden.

Diving department

In 2011, the diving department at KSV Baunatal was one of twelve winners of the club competition “Climate Protection in Sports Clubs”, which the German Olympic Sports Confederation ( DOSB ) and the Federal Environment Ministry (BMU) announced as sponsors.

Table tennis department

Table tennis has been played at KSV Baunatal since 1963 . The 1st men's team became champions in the district class on April 13, 2013 .

Trampoline department

In 2011 Jana Rosenthal became Hessian champion in the class of female pupils at the Hessian double mini trampoline jumping championships, and Sophia Frankfurth was runner-up.

Triathlon department

On May 1st, 2012 Simon Sareika became the German Duathlon Champion. The 1st men's team, Christoph Bentz, David Lappöhn, Michi Zahrt, Heiko Weber and Thomas Schröder, secured promotion from the Regionalliga Mitte to the 2nd Bundesliga on the last day of the competition in 2013. The first women's team (Irina Roppel, Katharina Pietsch, Birgit Solhdju and Diana Tempel) also rose, making the jump from the 2nd Hessen League to the 1st Hessen League.

Sports facilities

Baunatal Park Stadium

The city of Baunatal provides KSV Baunatal with sports fields and sports halls. The KSV Baunatal football league team plays its home games in the Park Stadium, which opened in 1979. The stadium has space for 9,000 spectators, of which 2,578 are covered seats. The stadium also has athletics facilities and a floodlight system. In addition, the club has another stadium on Baunsberg with 3000 standing places and several training areas. The Baunatal circular sports hall is the largest hall with 829 seats on the grandstands and 476 seats on the telescopic grandstand. For the fitness and course offers of the KSV Baunatal, the club has its own rooms, which also include the office and a bistro. In 2008, KSV Baunatal was the first club in Germany to receive the “Sport Pro Fitness” seal for its own fitness studio .

Indoor sports show

KSV Baunatal has been organizing an indoor sports show since the 1970s, which has been under the title Adrenalin - The Sports Show of Emotions since 2009 and is one of the largest sports shows in Hessen. Every two years artists, local amateurs and international professionals meet in the Baunatal circular sports hall to show their skills in front of up to 2000 spectators.

In addition to selling original parts , geo-Fennel and Becker Bedachungen from Baunatal have been main sponsors of KSV Baunatal (soccer department) for many years . The main club also relies on sponsors from the region, e.g. B. the EAM (energy supplier) , the Kasseler Sparkasse , the Raiffeisenbank Baunatal and the Hütt brewery .
