history

In 1886 the Hoofer loan office was founded in Hoof (today part of the municipality of Schauenburg). The club was launched on November 28, 1886 in the Leck (Krapfenbauer-Schütz) pub. At the 1st general assembly on December 5th of the same year, the association already had 50 members at the annual general assembly, including citizens of Elmshagen. Around 1920 Elmshagen went into business for himself. A loan office was founded in Breitenbach on October 20, 1889 and in Elgershausen in the same year. Up until the First World War, the number of members in the clubs rose steadily. Many a member could be helped out of an emergency with a small loan. The community idea promoted mutual help, the acquisition of the association's own equipment and machines brought better economic use. The difficult times of the two world wars and inflation were a tough test for the loan offices. In an extraordinary general meeting on June 11, 1968, the Hoofer and Elgershäuser loan funds merged to form a cooperative under the name Raiffeisenkasse Habichtswald. On June 27, 1969, Breitenbach and Elmshagen also joined the cooperative. Due to a regional reform in 1972, the association was renamed Raiffeisenbank Schauenburg eG.

1888 was founded by 18 members of the loan association in Großenritte. Pastor Georg Kulenkamp became chairman. In 1890, the loan association joined the Agricultural Central loan association in Neuwied. In 1893, the village fund of Großenritte helped finance the construction of the Kassel-Naumburg railway line via Altenbauna and Großenritte to Naumburg. Between 1895 and 1909 further loan offices were founded in Kirchbauna , Rengershausen , Guntershausen and Altenbauna.

After the two world wars and the currency reform in 1948 , the clubs were rebuilt. In 1977, the Raiffeisenbank Baunatal eG was created through the merger of the Raiffeisenkasse Großenritte-Altenritte eG, and the Raiffeisenbank Baunatal-Schauenburg eG was created through the merger with the Raiffeisenbank Schauenburg in 1991.

In 1903 the Eschenstruther savings and loan association eGmbH was founded. The later Raiffeisenkasse Eschenstruth eGmbH merged with the Raiffeisenkasse Kaufunger Wald eGmbH in December 1970. On January 22nd, 1895, the Niederkaufunger loan kassenverein eGmbH was entered under No. 2 in the cooperative register of acquisitions. Raiffeisenbank Söhre-Kaufungerwald eG was created in 1986 through the merger and amalgamation of Raiffeisenkasse Söhre eG (merger with Raiffeisenkasse Oberkaufungen, Helsa, Wickenrode and Nieste), which merged with Raiffeisenbank Baunatal-Schauenburg eG in July 1997.

The establishment of the Volkswagen factory in Kassel in Baunatal-Altenbauna with up to 20,000 employees, the increase in the number of residents and construction activities make it necessary for Raiffeisenbank Baunatal to set up warehouses in the communities of Großenritte, Hertingshausen , Altenritte , Altenbauna and Kirchbauna in the 1950s . When agriculture lost its importance in Baunatal, the Raiffeisenkasse eG Baunatal with its headquarters in Baunatal-Altenbauna with 496 members was created in 1965 through the merger of the Altenbauna, Guntershausen, Kirchbauna and Rengershausen cooperatives. The Hertingshausen and Grossenritte cooperatives joined this in 1968 and 1977.

The branches in Altenritte , Hertingshausen and Rengershausen in Baunatal, Breitenbach and Hoof in Schauenburg, Fuldabrück- Bergshausen , Lohfelden- Vollmarshausen , Söhrewald- Wellerode , Helsa and Eschenstruth and Nieste were closed on January 2, 2020 . Since then, as in previous self-service points in Kirchbauna and Wattenbach , there are no more ATMs there. The bank is currently represented with advice centers (“KompetenzCentern”) in Baunatal-Altenbauna (main office), Baunatal-Großenritte, Schauenburg-Elgershausen, Lohfelden and Kaufungen.
