Rengershausen is a district of Baunatal in the district of Kassel in northern Hesse (Germany) with 2,404 inhabitants (2019) spread over an area of 4.28 km².
location
The place is not far from the Fulda . The Kassel-West motorway junction is north of Rengershausen . The federal motorway 44 and the federal motorway 49 intersect there . The Main-Weser-Bahn (Kassel – Gießen – Frankfurt (Main)) runs along the town , there is also a stop for the RegioTram to Melsungen and the Rengershausen tunnel is on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg.
history
In 1154 the place was first mentioned as Reingozzeshusen in a donation to Hasungen Monastery . In 1936 the armaments company Henschel Flugmotoren GmbH was established in the Lohwald between Altenbauna and Rengershausen .
The Knallhütte was built in the 18th century . Knallhütten were particularly numerous in the time of the road construction . They got their name from the fact that the carters were able to place their orders by cracking their whips at a great distance in front of the hut . It is still a brewery with an inn today .
The independent communities Rengershausen and Guntershausen joined in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on 1 September 1970 voluntarily to the municipality Buchhagen together . This municipality of Buchenhagen then came to the city of Baunatal on August 1, 1972.
The forest sports hall was inaugurated on August 30, 2002.
