The Kassel-West motorway junction (abbreviation: AK Kassel-West ; short form: Kassel-West junction ) is a motorway junction in Hessen near Kassel . It connects the federal highway 44 ( Aachen - Kassel; E 331 ) with the federal highway 49 (Kassel - Schwalmstadt ).

The motorway junction is located in the urban area of Baunatal in the Kassel district , on the border with the city of Kassel. It is located about 7 km south of Kassel's city center. The closest districts are Oberzwehren (belonging to Kassel) and Rengershausen , which belongs to Baunatal.

The Volkswagen factory in Kassel and the high-speed line Hanover - Würzburg are located immediately south of the cross .

The Kassel-West motorway junction has junction number 69 on the A 44 and number 7 on the A 49.

Design and state of development

Both motorways have four lanes. All connecting ramps are single-track.

The motorway junction was laid out as a clover leaf .
