history

Founded in 1998, the Pinguine Baunatal are an inline hockey playing community affiliated to the GSV Eintracht Baunatal and KSV Baunatal clubs . Initially, a student and a youth team, then also a senior team, successfully participated in the Hessian Inline Hockey League. Among other things, the senior team was able to celebrate winning the Supercup in 2000 and the Hessian championship in 2001, as was the U15 team. In 2004 they joined the game operations of the IHD-Bundesliga organized by the DRIV and are still active there today. In the first senior season in 2005 they reached fifth place in the table, in the following season they took third place in the cup competition. In 2015 and 2016, the Baunatal penguins became German champions.

2008 season

In the 2008 season the Pinguine Baunatal will again take part in the IHD Bundesliga. The season started mixed and so far only one win after extra time against the Kaufungen Sharks . In contrast to the other clubs in the IHD Bundesliga , such as the Assenheim Patriots or the DEG Rhein Rollers , they did not participate in the German Inline Hockey League ( DIHL ) , which was jointly organized by DRIV and DEB and determined by the German champions . The first in the table at the end of the IHD-Bundesliga, which was only played with five clubs for the first time, is not the German champion, but he does qualify for the European Cup organized by the FIRS. However, for the Penguins Baunatal, who are currently at the bottom of the table, this goal has moved into the distance.
