The Parkstadion Baunatal is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Altenbauna district of the northern Hessian city ​​of Baunatal . The facility was inaugurated in 1979. From 2007 to 2008 the main stand, the synthetic track and the floodlights were renovated. The football club KSV Baunatal plays its games here.

The stadium

The stadium has space for 7,578 spectators (2,578 covered seats and 5,000 standing places). The natural grass field , renovated in 2015, is 105 × 67 meters in size and has a floodlight system suitable for international matches with an illuminance of 700 lux , there are also twelve changing rooms, modernized in 2009, and a press room for 60 people. The athletics facility has six lanes for the entire 400-meter track and eight lanes in front of the main stand for the 100-meter run and 110-meter hurdles . Competitive facilities for pole vault , high jump and long jump are also available. In addition, there is a sprinkler system , electronic timing and a public address system .

The stadium complex also includes two more grass pitches, five small pitches and, since September 2005, an artificial turf pitch . Numerous international junior soccer matches and friendly matches as well as training stays for international teams have already taken place here.

In 2010 the stadium was awarded the title EXCELLENT for its equipment by the Hessian Athletics Association .

Football in the park stadium

The home game of the German U16 junior national team against Northern Ireland took place in the Parkstadion Baunatal on October 17th, 2010 , which Germany won 4-1. KSV Baunatal played its home games in the Southwest Regional Football League from the 2013/14 season to the 2014/15 season in the Parkstadion , but was relegated after the season. The club's home games in the Hessen League have been taking place there since the 2015/16 season , as was the case between 1999 and 2013.

In 2009 and 2010 the International Athletics Sports Festival Askina , which is otherwise located in the Kassel Auestadion, took place here twice . In 2018, the athletics seniors held the 46th German Team Championship (DAMM).
