Marko Simsa

Marko Simsa (born February 28, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician, producer and actor in children's theater . His focus is on making classical music interesting for children.

Career

Marko Simsa was born in Vienna as the second of three children. His older sister is the sociologist Ruth Simsa . After graduating from the graphic college , he studied screen printing . In 1985 he produced his first play at the age of 20, followed in 1988 by his first music production, Nachtmusik und Zauberflöte - Mozart for Children, an adaptation of some works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , including the Zauberflöte . Simsa has been performing the production on a regular basis ever since. Thematically similar concerts followed, Vivaldi for children, Joseph Haydn for children and Johann Strauss for children . He presented his concert productions in renowned concert halls such as the Wiener Musikverein , the Wiener Konzerthaus , the Wiesbaden State Theater and at the Salzburg Festival .

Since 1998, 29 audio books have been published for his concerts, some in English. 17 books have been published since 1999, all of them with audio CDs.

In addition to classical music, Simsa also presents other musical genres for children, e.g. B. South American folk music through the play Bombo, Poncho & Guitar .
