The 1975/76 season of the Oberliga was the second season of the Oberliga as the third highest division in football in Germany after the introduction of the two-track - later single-track - 2nd Bundesliga for the 1974/75 season.

In addition to two direct promoters, VfL Wolfsburg , SV Arminia Hannover , Eintracht Trier and BSV 07 Schwenningen were each group winner, while Bonner SC and SC Herford were second in their group in four rounds of promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga .
