Nicholas Alexander "Nick" Blackman (born November 11, 1989 in Salford ) is an English football player who is under contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv .

Career

Macclesfield Town

Blackman began his professional career with English third division club Macclesfield Town , where he signed his first professional contract in March 2007 after having trained at Manchester United , Preston North End and Bury FC on a trial basis. He made his debut for the Silkmen against Accrington Stanley , but could not intervene in league events in the following months because he suffered an injury in the pre-season. His first professional goal was his team's 1-1 draw against Dagenham & Redbridge .

Blackburn Rovers

Despite the relatively small number of 12 missions in three years, he was able to convince in a test training with the English Premier League representative Blackburn Rovers . The Rovers, under coach Sam Allardyce, secured the services of the striker, who thereby became the first English- born and raised Jewish footballer in the Premier League.

It quickly became clear that Blackman had to continue to collect match practice at this point, so that he was loaned to various clubs in the following years. In March of the same year he was awarded for a month and later until the end of the 2008/09 season to the second division club Blackpool .

The next season he returned to Football League Two to storm for Oldham Athletic for a month . This loan deal was also extended, so that he did not return to Blackburn until January 2010. He then came to the Rovers' second team and was able to score three goals in ten games.

Blackman had still not played a game for his actual employer and this should not change in the 2010/11 season, as he was loaned out to the Scottish Premier League for Motherwell FC for six months in August . In November he managed a "flawless" hat trick in the game against FC St. Johnstone (4-0) .

After the loan deal ended after six months, Craig Brown , his coach at Motherwell FC , took him to Aberdeen FC , as he also started a new job there. Blackman also signed up there for half a year.

For the 2011/12 season Blackman was the first time in the squad of Blackburn Rovers. He came on the first day of his use when he was substituted in for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers .

Sheffield United

In the summer of 2012 Blackman moved to Sheffield United in Football League One . There he signed a two-year contract and was able to play in the starting XI. After only six months he moved on to the first division club Reading FC , where he signed a contract until the end of the 2015/16 season.
