Nigel James Spackman (born December 2, 1960 in Romsey ) is a former English football player and football coach.
life and career
Spackman began his playing career at Andover FC. In 1980 he signed a professional contract with AFC Bournemouth , which he left three years later for Chelsea . He made his debut for the Blues in 1983 against Derby County in which he also scored a goal. With the Blues he made it to the top English league in 1984. After an argument with the then coach John Hollins, Spackman moved to Liverpool in 1987 . With Liverpool he lost two league cup finals and one cup final. In 1989 he went to the Queens Park Rangers for a year . After the brief appearance in London , he moved north to the Glasgow Rangers , where he was three times Scottish champion (1991, 1992, 1993), won the Scottish Cup once (1992), and won the 1991 Scottish League Cup. In 1992 the midfielder returned to Chelsea. After four years with the Blues, he let his career as a player-coach at Sheffield United end until 1998. After his playing career, he coached Barnsley FC from 2000 to 2002 and Millwall FC at short notice in 2006 .
