Bobby Lennox MBE (born August 30, 1943 in Saltcoats , Ayrshire ) is a retired Scottish football player .

In September 1961 Lennox signed his first contract with Celtic Glasgow and played in the first team the following March. In 571 games for Celtic he was able to score 273 league goals, making him the seventh most successful goalscorer in the club's history.

He was Scottish champion eleven times , won the Scottish Cup eight times and the Scottish League Cup four times , in which he scored a total of 63 goals. He also won the European Champions Cup once and with that victory became famous as one of the Lisbon Lions .

He played ten times for the Scottish national football team , but had to fight there with strong competition in his regular position.
