Kenny McLean (born January 8, 1992 in Rutherglen ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Norwich City .

Career

Kenny McLean was born in Rutherglen, a suburb of Glasgow , in January 1992 . He started his career in 2009 with FC Arbroath on the Scottish east coast. McLean made his debut for the third division on December 12, 2009 against Stirling Albion . In April 2010, the central midfielder scored his first professional goal. McLean played for the Red Lichties in a total of twenty third division games of the 2009/10 season and scored one goal. In August 2010, the 18-year-old moved to the Scottish first division club FC St. Mirren . Here he quickly became a regular player in his first season. With the Saints he reached the final of the Scottish League Cup in 2013 . In February 2015, McLean moved to league rivals FC Aberdeen for a transfer fee of around £ 300,000 .

National team

Kenny McLean played once in October 2010 in the Scottish U19 against Norway . From 2011 to 2014 McLean was eleven times in the U 21 active. In March 2016 McLean was invited by national coach Gordon Strachan as one of six players for the first time in the Scottish national soccer team. He started the 1-0 away win against the Czech Republic in Prague before being replaced by Matt Phillips in the 58th minute .
