Jamal Piaras Lewis (born January 25, 1998 in Luton ) is a Northern Irish football player who is currently under contract with the English Premier League promoted Norwich City . The left full-back has also been a Northern Ireland international since 2018 .

Career

Jamal Lewis comes from Norwich City youth work in the east of England. On July 31, 2017, he signed his first professional contract with the Canaries . On December 22, 2017, he made his debut in a 2-1 home defeat against Brentford FC , when he came on for Marco Stiepermann in the 68th minute of play. As a result, he quickly established himself in the starting line-up of coach Daniel Farke . He scored his first goal on January 17, 2018 in the cup defeat against Chelsea . In his first season 2017/18 he made 22 league appearances.

On October 10, he extended his contract with Norwich City until June 2023. His good performance throughout the 2018/19 season earned him nominations for the EFL Championship Team of the Season and the PFA Team of the Year . In 42 league games he also contributed significantly to the championship title of the Canaries and the resulting promotion to the highest English league .

On March 24, 2018, he made his debut in a 2-1 win in the friendly against South Korea for the Northern Irish national team .
