Samuel Mark "Sam" Byram (born September 16, 1993 in Thurrock ) is an English football player . He plays as a right full-back for the English first division club Norwich City .
Club career
Leeds United
Sam Byram, who successfully ran through Leeds United's youth division since 2005, made his professional debut on August 11, 2012 in a 4-0 home win in the 2012/13 League Cup against Shrewsbury Town . The young player quickly became a regular at United and scored 3 goals in 44 games in the 2012/13 Football League Championship . Due to an injury, he only made 25 league appearances in the 2013/14 season . In the following season he played 39 games and scored 3 goals.
West Ham United
After a contract extension of the contract that expired in summer 2016 failed, Leeds United sold Sam Byram on January 20, 2016 to the first division club West Ham United . He made his debut for his new team on January 23, 2016 in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City in the Premier League . After three more appearances in the 2015/16 season , Byram played 18 games in the 2016/17 Premier League and finished the season with his team in eleventh place. In 2017/18 he was initially only used in the league cup before injuring himself in training in early November 2017 and only played his first league game in mid-January 2018.
On August 10, 2018, the 24-year-old moved to second division Nottingham Forest on loan for the entire season .
Norwich City
In mid-July 2019, he hired for a transfer fee of 750,000 pounds from West Ham at first division rivals and promoted Norwich City .
