Maximillian James "Max" Aarons (born January 4, 2000 in Hammersmith ) is an English football player who has been under contract with the Premier League promoted Norwich City since 2016 . The right full-back has been an English U21 international since September 2019 .

Career

In 2016, Max Aarons moved from Luton Town to the Norwich City Youth Academy , where he signed his first professional contract in June 2018.He made his debut for coach Daniel Farke's first team on August 14 of the same year in a League Cup game against the FC Stevenage . Two weeks later he scored his first competitive goal for the Canaries in a 3-1 away win against Cardiff City in this cup .

His debut in the second highest English division followed on September 2, 2018 in the East Anglia derby against Ipswich Town , when Aarons was on the field from the start in the 1-1 draw. Farke continued in the next games entirely on the young full-back who convinced by his strong performances. Already on 10 October 2018, the club extended from the county Norfolk his contract until June 2023rd

On December 1 of the same year, the defender scored his first league goal for Norwich in a 3-1 home win over Rotherham United . His team won the championship title this season and the resulting promotion to the first-class Premier League . The young defender contributed to this with two goals and six assists in 41 games. His strong performances earned him a nomination for the EFL Championship Team of the Season and the title of "Young Player of the Season".

On July 17th, the extension of Aaron's contract until 2024 was announced.

National team

At the end of August 2018, Aarons received a call-up for the first time in the squad of the England U19 national team . He made his debut on September 5 in a 4-1 friendly win against the Netherlands when he came on for Jake Vokins in the closing stages of the game . He played seven international matches for the U19s until March 2019.

Aarons has been England's U21 international since September 2019 .

Max Aarons is the cousin of Rolando Aarons , who is currently on loan from Newcastle United with Wycombe Wanderers .
