Career

society

Amido Baldé, who was born in Bissau , the capital of the West African country Guinea-Bissau , began his career with the Sporting Clube de Bissau , which serves as the farm team for Sporting Lisbon . Here he played until 2007, before he moved to Portugal with his teammate Zézinho to the Sporting youth boarding school , where he was mainly used in the reserve team. From 2010 to 2012 he was a professional in the Lisbon squad , but was not used there, so that he was awarded three times during this time, first to CD Santa Clara in the Portuguese Segunda League , later to CD Badajoz in Spain and the Belgian Club Cercle Bruges .

In the summer of 2012 he left Sporting and moved to league rivals Vitória Guimarães . With the club from Guimarães he won the Portuguese Cup final in 2013 against Benfica Lisbon . With nine goals in 27 league games in the Primeira Liga 2012/13 , he was one of the top scorers on his team.

After a season at Vitória, Baldé moved to the reigning Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow , with whom the striker signed for four years. There he should compensate for the departure of Gary Hooper , who had moved to Norwich City . After his debut for Celtic in the Champions League game at home in Paradise against FC Cliftonville , which was to remain without a goal for Baldé, he scored his first goal on the 8th match day of the Scottish Premiership 2013/14 against FC Kilmarnock . Due to the disappointing goal scoring and overall performance of the Portuguese, Celtic and team manager Neil Lennon signed not only the Finns Teemu Pukki but also the Dutch Derk Boerrierter before the end of the transfer window , so that Baldé hardly had any minutes left. In addition, Georgios Samaras and Anthony Stokes , who had previously been under contract with Celtic, also play the forward position. At the beginning of the new season he was awarded to the Belgian club Waasland-Beveren . Another loan to Hapoel Tel Aviv until the end of the season followed in January 2015 . In June 2015 Baldé was transferred to FC Metz .

National team

After Amido Baldé decided to play for the Portuguese national team, he made his debut in the country's U-19s in 2010. By the end of the year he came to five international matches in this age group, in which he was able to score a goal. With Portugal's U-20s , he took part in the 2011 World Cup in Colombia . Here he came to a use in the 1-0 group game win over Cameroon when he came on for Caetano in the 83rd minute . With the team he reached the final against Brazil , which was lost 3-2 after extra time . He has played Guinea-Bissau since 2015 and has so far played four international matches, scoring one goal.
