Football in the Czech Republic refers to football in the Czech Republic after 1993.
The football association
The Bohemian-Moravian Football Association ( Českomoravský fotbalový svaz , abbreviated ČMFS) represents almost 4,000 clubs and around 625,000 members.
championship
The football championship is held on several levels:
- the highest league, formerly also the first football league ( první fotbalová liga ) , has changing names after its sponsor
- the second highest division in Czech football is the Fotbalová národní liga
- the third highest division and at the same time the highest amateur class is the Czech Football League ( Česká fotbalová liga ) in Bohemia and the Moravian-Silesian Football League ( Moravskoslezská fotbalová liga ) in Moravia and Silesia .
- the fourth highest division are the divisions: Divize A, Divize B and Divize C in Bohemia and Divize D and Divize E in Moravia and Silesia
There are several local competitions among them.
Cup competition
In addition to the championship games, Czech teams take part in the Czech Football Cup, which was called Český Pohár from 1970 to 1993, and since 1993 it has been called Pohár ČMFS .
