Jakubčovice Fotbal is a Czech football club from the north Moravian municipality of Jakubčovice nad Odrou, which has almost 700 inhabitants . The club rose year after year from 1999 to 2006 and played in the second Czech division in the 2006/07 season .
Club history
In 1952 a sports club named Tatran was founded in Jakubčovice nad Odrou, which had a football, table tennis and chess department . Until 1999 the footballers played either in the lowest division or a league above. This year the owner of the local quarry , Josef Hájek, offered to support the association financially as a patron and sponsor . His goal was to bring the club into the national 4th league.
The team rose season after season, strengthened in 2001 with the former legionnaire Radek Onderka , and a year later with the former national player Pavel Hapal . In 2003 Jakubčovice arrived in Divize E , the 4th league, and hired the former professional footballer Alois Grussmann as a coach. The football department was spun off from the entire club under the name JAKUBČOVICE FOTBAL, sro ( GmbH ) , Josef Hájek became the managing director .
The team also won the Divize E confidently, the same succeeded in 2005/06 in the third-class MSFL, so that Jakubčovice had arrived in professional football . Before the start of the season, Hájek said that this would be too much for a small community like Jakubčovice, and that he could no longer bear the budget on his own either. Therefore, he wants to sell the professional license at the end of the season.
Since the sports field in Jakubčovice did not meet the criteria for the 2nd league, the team played their home games in 2006/07 in Fulnek, a few kilometers away . During the winter break, Hájek and FK Dukla Prague agreed on a license sale for the 2007/08 season. Coach Günter Bittengel from Prague came to the second half of the season to get to know the team, from which eight players eventually moved to Prague for the new season.
Jakubčovice Fotbal, meanwhile converted into a joint stock company, will start in the 1st A třída , the sixth highest division , in 2007/08 instead of its own B team, which has been canceled .
