Herbert Rauter (born January 27, 1982 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player in the position of midfielder . He has been playing for SC Ritzing since July 2015 .
Career
Rauter played for SK Sturm Graz from 1992 to 2007 . The offensive all-rounder was discovered by Ivica Osim . In 2001 he was brought into the fighting team by Sturm and came under Franco Foda to some missions. However, Rauter was never really able to assert himself and so at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season he switched from Sturm Graz to DSV Leoben on loan to the second-class first division in order to be able to collect match practice. In 2008 he finally left the SK Sturm and signed a one-year contract with the Leobners. In the winter of 2008/09 he switched to the Grazer AK , as Leoben released all his players for free for financial reasons. In the spring of 2009 he scored eleven goals in 13 championship games at the GAK. The former Sturm player quickly became the Red Devil's favorite with the public.
In the 2009/10 season Herbert Rauter often had to move to the left midfield position, yet he scored 10 goals in 30 games. In the 2010/11 season Herbert Rauter was the top scorer in the Regionalliga Mitte with 23 goals in 28 games.
The 30-year-old has been without a club since the bankruptcy of the GAK. He moved to SC Wiener Neustadt on November 16, 2012, free of charge and with immediate effect , but was only eligible to play after the winter break.
After the relegation of SC Wiener Neustadt, his contract was not extended in the summer of 2015, whereupon Rauter moved to the Regionalliga Ost for SC Ritzing . Due to a serious injury, he was only used there from March 2016. Herbert Rauter will join the amateurs of the Grazer AK in summer 2020 .
