Klaus Dietrich (born June 27, 1974 ) is a former Austrian football player on the position of defender .

Career

Dietrich began his football career with the youth teams of FK Austria Wien , Wiener Sportklub and Casino Salzburg . With the Salzburg team he came to two missions in the 1995 championship season. After his stay in Salzburg he went to the Grazer AK in Styria where he played until 1998. After years with the Red Devils, he went to the Scottish First Division at Hibernian Edinburgh . After a year in Scotland, he moved to the Wörtherseestadion for FC Kärnten . But the player didn't last long in Carinthia. His next stop was the traditional Dynamo Dresden club . In 2001 he moved from Dresden to 1. FC Magdeburg for one season . A year later he went back to Dresden , this time to the Dresdner SC . After years in the lower leagues in Germany , he moved back to Austria in 2003. Dietrich played one year in the 2nd division at LASK in Linz and the following year at the regional division SV Schwechat . Since the 2005/06 season he has been playing for the oldest Austrian soccer club First Vienna FC 1894 in the Regionalliga Ost. Towards the end of the 2006/2007 season, he was informed that he was no longer planning for the next season, whereupon Dietrich moved to the Lower Austrian regional division ASK Kottingbrunn . However, this engagement should only last for half a year. In winter 2008 he moved back to SC Eisenstadt in the Regionalliga Ost. After only a few games, however, the club went bankrupt and Dietrich moved to SV Stockerau in the "Alte Au" where his grandfather also played.
