The Austrian women's soccer championship was held for the 43rd time in 2014/15 after the 35-year break between 1938 and 1972. The top division is the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga and was held for the second time. The second highest division ( 2nd division ), this season the 36th edition, was divided into two regional leagues, with the 2nd division middle / west for the 6th time and the 2nd division east / south for the 4th time . The season lasted from mid-August to mid-June.
The FSK St. Pölten-Spratzern became Austrian football champions for the first time . The champions of the second highest division were SG FC Bergheim / USK Hof (middle / west) and SV Neulengbach II (east / south). Carinthians Soccer Women was able to prevail in the relegation games and was therefore entitled to play in the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga in the 2015/16 season .

Second performance level - 2nd division
The 2nd league represents the second highest performance group in Austrian women's football. In order to reduce the costs for the clubs, it is divided into two regional groups: 2nd league middle / west and 2nd league east / south.
The second performance level consists of two leagues, separated by region:
- 2. League Middle / West with the clubs from Upper Austria ( OFV ), Salzburg ( SFV ), Tyrol ( TFV ) and Vorarlberg ( VFV ) and
- 2. League East / South with the clubs from Burgenland ( BFV ), Carinthia ( KFV ), Lower Austria ( NÖFV ), Styria ( StFV ) and Vienna ( WFV ).
In the 2nd division , a maximum of 24 teams play for promotion to the ÖFB women's league. In the 2014/15 season, a total of twelve teams played for promotion to the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga, seven second teams were not eligible for promotion.
The general mode stipulates that each team competed against each other in the respective league. The champions of the two leagues played in a relegation for promotion to the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga. The bottom of the table in each league was relegated.

As part of the competition, which is carried out in championship mode, each team plays three times against each participating opposing team. The right to the home results from the draw.

The team from SG FC Bergheim / USK Hof won the 2nd division Middle / West and is entitled to play the relegation for the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga for the 2014/15 season.

There were two relegation games in the Landesliga Süd region for promotion to the 2nd league east / south for the 2015/16 season , in which the champions from Carinthia and Styria determined the promoted team in a return match. In the Landesliga Süd-Region the game between UDFC Hof bei Straden and SV Spittal / SV Rothenthurn took place and the UDFC Hof bei Straden rose thanks to the away goals rule.
