Fritz Wille

Fritz Wille (born January 11, 1912 in Zurich ; † July 18, 2005 in Muri near Bern ) was a Swiss lawyer , officer ( corps commander ) and translator .

Life

Wille was a grandson of the General of the Swiss Army , Ulrich Wille .

He studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin , the University of Zurich and the University of Bern . In 1936, he was in Zurich with a thesis on the position of the farmer in the Swiss private law to Dr. iur. PhD.

From 1938 to 1961 he was an instruction officer. In 1948 he passed through Staff College Camberley in the UK. In 1961 he was promoted to division general. He was then chief of arms of the light troops and commander of the Mechanized Division 11. In 1968 he became corps commander of the 3rd Mountain Army Corps.

He also worked as a translator and commentator on military history and was President of the Swiss Association for Military History and Science .
