Lance! is a major national sports newspaper in Brazil . The paper was created in 1997 from a journalistic project led by Walter de Mattos Júnior. The newspaper was founded on the model of the Spanish sports daily Marca .

The fully colored newspaper, published in tabloid format, was first published on October 26, 1997 and mainly deals with football in Brazil. The international soccer scene is also dealt with, not least because of the many Brazilian soccer players abroad. The editorial team of the newspaper brings with Lancenet! also an online edition.

A total of 250 journalists work on the newspaper, the larger editorial offices are located in Rio de Janeiro , São Paulo and Belo Horizonte . There are other editorial offices in Brasília , Goiânia , Manaus and Porto Alegre , as a total of four regional editions are also edited.

The Lance! states that it also works regionally with a large number of newspaper publishers to ensure that the product can be offered nationwide even in sparsely populated areas. The Monday edition of Lance! should bring it to 160,000 copies sold.
