The Top League of Kyrgyzstan ( Kyrgyz Топ Лига Кыргызстана ) is the top division of the national football association of Kyrgyzstan and has been played since the country became independent in 1992. Record winner is FK Dordoi Bishkek , who won the championship eleven times.

history

In the league system of the Soviet Union , no club from Kyrgyzstan reached the first-class Wysschaja Liga , but Alga Bishkek was able to hold onto the second-rate Pervaya League for 13 seasons . After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the independence of Kyrgyzstan , the Kyrgyz football association Football Federation of Kyrgyz Republic was founded in 1992 and organizes the top league . The number of participating teams changed annually, the maximum was 20 participating teams in the 1998 season. In recent years, the league has been played with fewer than ten clubs. The mode of delivery was also changed many times, including playoffs in some seasons after the championship round had ended. As previously in the Soviet Union, the season follows the annual cycle and runs from March to October.

Currently, the participating teams in come round robin tournament at three or four times against each other depending on the number of participants. The club with the most points at the end of the season is the Kyrgyz football champion and thus qualifies for the AFC Cup . The runner-up is also qualified for this competition. The foundation of the top league is the Pervaya League , which is played in two groups.
