Pakistan Premier League
The Pakistan Premier League is the top division of the National Football Association of Pakistan .
history
The professionalization of football in Pakistan began in 1948 with the introduction of the "National Football Championship", which was held as a knockout tournament and also functioned as the top division for football teams in Pakistan. In August 2003, football was promoted by building training centers in Lahore . In 2004 the previous league system was restructured with the introduction of the National League Division A Football League and National League Division B Football League.
In the 2006-2007 season, the National League Division A Football League was renamed the Pakistan Premier League and introduced with 12 teams, which were gradually increased to 16 teams. It replaced the National League Division A Football League as the top division.
