The Hong Kong Premier League , HKPL for short ( Chinese  香港 超級 聯賽  /  香港 超级 联赛 , kurz  /  港 超 for short ), is the top division of the city of Hong Kong, founded in 2014 and taking place since the 2014/15 season . It is organized by the Hong Kong Football Association . Since the league was won as an official sponsor by Bank of China Group Life Assurance Company Limited , it has been officially called the BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League ( 中 銀 集團 人壽 香港 超級 聯賽  /  中 银 集团 人寿 香港 超级 联赛 ).

The HKPL champions qualify for the group stage of the AFC Champions League .

Stadium allocation

In Hong Kong, most Premier League football clubs do not have their own “home stadium”. Therefore, the use of the regional public stadiums as "home stadiums" is made available to them by the Hong Kong city administration for a fee ( fee ). Since the football season 2009/2010, the stadium use has been regulated by the seasonal performance or table placement of the clubs in the league competition through the "home guest usage allocation system for Hong Kong's top football league" ( 香港 足球 頂級 聯賽 主客 制  /  香港 足球 顶级 联赛 主客 制 ). The public stadiums are mostly operated and managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department , or LCDP ( 康文署 ) for short, of the Hong Kong government, which, in cooperation with the HKFA, issues the rights of use to the clubs. The allocation of use of the stadiums for the clubs (as of 2019-2020) is as follows:
