Hong Kong Pegasus FC ( Chinese  香港 飛馬 足球 會  /  香港 飞马 足球 会 , English Hong Kong Pegasus Football Club ), also known as The Flying Horsemen , is a football club from Hong Kong that was founded in 2008. The club currently plays in the city's highest league, the Hong Kong Premier League (HKPL). (As of 2019)

history

The club was founded in 2008 by football enthusiasts from Tin Shui Wai in Yuen Long as TSW Pegasus ( 天水圍 飛馬  /  天水围 飞马 ). They started with a budget of 10,000,000 HKD in what was then the highest division in the Special Administrative Region , the Hong Kong First Division League . In July 2012, the association signed a new sponsorship agreement with Sun International Resources Limited ( 太陽 國際 資源 有限公司  /  太阳 国际资源 有限公司 ) and renamed itself to "Sun Pegasus" ( 太陽 飛馬  /  太阳 飞马 ). After the 2014/2015 season, the sponsor withdrew. The club was renamed again to Hong Kong Pegasus .

Like most football clubs in Hong Kong, the club does not have its own home stadium. The club currently plays its home games at the Hong Kong Stadium (HKS). (Status: November 2019) In the past, the team often carried out in the Mong Kok Stadium (MKS), built in 1961 in the Mongkok district of Kowloon . The Hong Kong Stadium ( HKS ) has a maximum capacity of 40,000 spectators. The stadium is operated or owned by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of the City of Hong Kong.
