The Sapling Cup ( Chinese 菁英 盃 / 菁英 杯 , Pinyin Jīngyīngbēi , Jyutping Zing 1 jing 1 bui 1 - " Sapling Cup ") 1 is a national football competition in Hong Kong , in which all teams of the Hong Kong Premier League participate.
The aim of the cup is to create more potential opportunities for the young players to play. The cup was first hosted in the 2015-2016 season. The first winner of the cup competition was HK Pegasus FC . In addition to the Sapling Cup, there are other cup competitions in the HKFA such as the Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield .
