Yuen Long Football Club ( Chinese  元朗 足球 會  /  元朗 足球 会 , Pinyin Lǐwén Zúqiúhuì , Jyutping Jyun ⁴ Long ² Zuk ¹ kau ⁴ wui ² ) is a football team from Hong Kong . The team is colloquially referred to by the population as "The Tangerines " because of the jersey color or "The Squire Team" ( 鄉紳 班  /  乡绅 班  - literally the squire team) due to their rural origin . She currently plays in the city's highest league, the Hong Kong Premier League . Since the 2018/19 season, the club has also been listed as Best Union Yuen Long ( 佳 聯 元朗  /  佳 联 元朗 ) in the HKPL due to a sponsorship agreement .

The club was founded in 1959 as the Yuen Long District Sports Association , or Yuen Long DSA ( 元朗 區 體育 會  /  元朗 区 体育 会 ) for short . In 2013, the club was renamed Yuen Long Football Club .

The club does not have its own football stadium and plays its home games at Yuen Long Stadium ⊙ . The sports facility is located in Yuen Long in the Yuen Long District of the same name in the New Territories in the rural region north of the urban center on the island of Hong Kong . The stadium opened in December 1968. It can accommodate a maximum of 2,194 spectators. Like most of the sports facilities in Hong Kong, the property is owned by the Hong Kong Government . The facility is operated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department , "LCDP" for short ( 康文署 ).
