Club history

The football club Tai Po FC was on 3 September 2002 by the Council of the District Municipality of Tai Po ( 大埔區議會  /  大埔区议会 , english Tai Po District Council established) in Hong Kong football season 2002-2003. After a successful 2015-2016 season as leaders in the First Division, Tai Po FC has been playing in the top division, the Hong Kong Premier League, since the beginning of the 2016-17 season, which the club finished sixth at the end of the season.

Since the promotion to the 2016-17 season, the club has been back in the top division, the Hong Kong Premier League. (As of 2019)
