Districts of Hong Kong
The 18 districts of Hong Kong ( Chinese 香港 行政區 / 香港 行政区 , Pinyin Xiānggǎng Xíngzhèng Qū , Jyutping Hoeng 1 gong 2 Hang 4 zing 3 Keoi 1 ) are administrative units of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region . The administrative district division mostly follows geographic reference lines such as mountain ranges, coasts or roads and does not take into account the urban boundaries of the localities. Each district ( 行政區 / 行政区 , Xíngzhèng Qū , Jyutping Hang 4 zing 3 Keoi 1 , short 區 / 区 , Qū , Jyutping Keoi 1 , English district - "administrative district") has a "district council" ( 區 議會 / 区 议会 , English District Council ) as an administrative body with democratically elected representatives.
Administrative division
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is divided into 18 districts ( 十八 區 / 十八 区 , Shíbā Qü , Jyutping Sap 6 baat 3 Keoi 1 , English 18 districts ), which are administratively divided into the three regions of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories.

1st Islands , 2nd Kwai Tsing , 3rd North , 4th Sai Kung , 5th Sha Tin , 6th Tai Po , 7th Tsuen Wan , 8th Tuen Mun , 9th Yuen Long - Kowloon Region - 九龍 區 :
10th Kowloon City , 11th Kwun Tong , 12th Sham Shui Po , 13th Wong Tai Sin , 14th Yau Tsim Mong - Hong Kong Island Region - 港島 區 :
15th Central and Western , 16th Eastern , 17th Southern , 18th Wan Chai
