Oriental Daily News , ODN for short , ( Chinese  東方 日報  /  东方 日报 , Pinyin Dōngfāng Rìbào , Jyutping Dung 1 fong 1 Jat 6 bou 3 ) is a Chinese- language daily newspaper from Hong Kong . The Oriental Daily News was founded in 1969 by the Ma ( 馬氏 家族  /  马氏 家族 ) family and is now one of Hong Kong's largest newspapers. The newspaper is a broad-based, entertaining tabloid with politically less critical topics.

The ODN is published by the Oriental Press Group Limited ( 東方 報業 集團 有限公司  /  东方 报业 集团 有限公司 , Dōngfāng Bàoyè Jítuán Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī ) and usually has an "older" readership. According to a data analysis by Nielsen Data (Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems) from 2008, ODN has around 1.77 million readers (including online readership) and 530,000 copies have been sold. The sister paper The Sun (Hong Kong) - 太陽報 (香港)  /  太阳报 (香港) , which was discontinued in April 2016 , had a younger readership of around 537,000 readers (including online readers) and 180,000 copies were sold.
