The Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground ( Chinese 小西灣運動場 / 小西湾运动场 , Pinyin Xiǎoxīwān Yùndòngchǎng , Jyutping Siu 4 sai 1 waan 2 Wan 6 dong 6 coeng 4 , Yale Síusāiwāan Wahnduhngchèuhng ) is a public stadium in Hong Kong , in the district Chai Wan , East District on Hong Kong Island . The stadium is a single-storey, multifunctional sports building with a soccer field and facilities according to international standards of the AFC and IAAF for soccer and athletics competitions. Besides events of school sport it is often used for football - and rugby games and archery of HKAA ( Hong Kong Archery Association , 香港射箭總會 / 香港射箭总会 ) used. Its footprint is approximately 43,000 square meters and cost over HK $ 230 million. It was opened in December 1996 and has 11,981 seats. Due to its remote urban location within Hong Kong, the sports facility is only used to a limited extent despite its size, for example compared to the MFS . It is the second largest sports facility in Hong Kong (as of 2019) after the Hong Kong Stadium (HKS) and was one of the venues for the East Asian Games in 2009 . The stadium is the home of the Hong Kong Women's National Football Team and was the home of the R&F (Hong Kong) in the Hong Kong Premier League . (As of 2019/20)

The Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground is built on land created by land reclamation measures by the Hong Kong government in the early 1990s on the coast of Chai Wan near Siu Sai Wan Bay. In 2017 the entire stadium was completely flooded by typhoon " Hato " ( 天 鴿 / 天 鸽 , Tiāngē , Jyutping Tin 1 gaap 3 - "International identifier: 1713") - tropical cyclone "Isang" ( PAGASA ). In 2018, the following year, the sports facility was severely damaged by the super typhoon " Mangkhut " ( 山竹 , Shānzhú , Jyutping Saan 1 zuk 1 - "International identifier: 1822") - tropical cyclone "Ompong" (PAGASA). After repair and maintenance work, the stadium has been operational again since mid-April 2019.

As the Hong Kong Macau Interport , 港澳埠際足球賽 / 港澳埠际足球赛 ) instead. For example, the Hong Kong Premier League league games, training and competitions by the Hong Kong Archery Association ( HKAA ) and rugby games are held in the sports facility . The stadium is also booked for major social events, for example regularly by the local welfare organization of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals , or “TWGHs” ( 東華 三 院 / 东华 三 院 ) or by the Catholic youth organization Boys' Brigade Hong Kong , short “BBHK” ( 香港 基督 少年 軍 / 香港 基督 少年 军 ).

Public transport
The stadium is located in the immediate vicinity of the high-rise complex Island Resort ( 藍灣 半島 / 蓝湾 半岛 ) and Harmony Garden ( 富 欣 花園 / 富 欣 花园 ) and is relatively easy to reach via various public transport systems . It can be reached both by subway and by bus or green public light bus , also known as “green minibus ” ( 綠色 專線 小巴 / 绿色 专线 小巴 , German “ shared taxis with the green roof”). The nearby "Access A" of the MTR -Haltestelle Chai Wan Station ( 柴灣站 / 柴湾站 ) of Iceland Line is about 20 minutes walk from the stadium.

The stadium has a paid car park with a total of 70 parking spaces. It includes 51 car parking spaces, including two parking spaces for drivers with a disabled parking permit, five parking spaces for coaches and ten motorcycle parking spaces.
