Career

society

Akram began his career at the traditional Baghdad club Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya when he was twelve . In 1997 he moved to Al-Zawraa and played another season there, further stations were again Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (1998/99) and Salahaddin FC (1999/2000). Between 2000 and 2003 he played for Al-Shorta before he left Iraq for Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia after the Third Gulf War . Akram played at Al-Nasr for two years before moving to league rival Al-Shabab from Riyadh in 2005 . In the same year Nash'at Akram was voted the best foreign player in the Saudi Arabian League. With Al-Shabab he became Saudi champion in 2006.

After the Asian Cup in 2007 , which Akram won with the national team of Iraq, he moved to Al Ain Club in the Emirati league. There he shows consistently good performances and was sold to Al-Gharafa in Qatar in 2008 , where he plays together with the captain of the Iraqi national soccer team Yunis Mahmud . In the meantime, there was speculation about Akram's move to Manchester City , but this failed because he was not given a work permit in Great Britain. After another season with Al Gharafa, he signed on May 19, 2009 a three-year contract with the Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede . He made his debut for Twente on July 10, 2009 in the pre-season game against Borussia Mönchengladbach . At Twente, however, he could not prevail and played only ten games during the first season; on June 10, 2010, his contract was terminated after only one season.

National team

At the age of 18, Nasch'at Akram was part of the Iraqi U-19 team that won the title at the 2000 Asian Cup . The following year he took part with the Iraqi U-20 team in the Junior World Cup in Argentina . He played his first international game for the Iraqi national soccer team on October 5, 2001 against Saudi Arabia . In 2002 he won the West Asian Championship with Iraq . As part of the Olympic team, he also took part in the 2004 Olympic Games , in which Iraq finished fourth. At the 2004 Asian Football Championship , he was a top performer and completed all four possible games in the tournament, with Akram scoring one goal. In 2007, they made it back to the final of the West Asian Games. But this was lost against the Iranian national soccer team with 1: 2. He experienced his greatest success at the 2007 Asian Cup , which he won as a player with the Iraqi team. The midfielder played all the games and didn't miss a minute. Nasch'at Akram has played 109 international matches and scored 17 goals. (As of October 2012)
