Storuman ( South Sami : Luspie , umesamisch : Lusspie ) is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County and the historic province of Lapland and is the capital of the homonymous municipality .
Storuman has a station on the Inland Railway . At the station, the line to Hallnäs branches off, but there is no longer any regular passenger traffic. The European route 12 and the European route 45 lead through Storuman . The place is on the upper reaches of the Ume älv , at the outlet of Lake Storuman .
