history
Solenice was first mentioned in a document in 1142 as the property of the newly founded Cistercian monastery Sedlec . The settlement has been a trading point for salt since the Middle Ages.
The Lobkowicz family later acquired the village and gave it to their lordship, Hoch-Chlumetz .
In 1845 the village of Sollenitz / Solenice in the Berauner district consisted of 20 houses with 115 inhabitants. Five houses in the village and the one-tier Zavadilka inn were subordinate to the Rtišovice estate. The parish was Tiechnitz ( Těchnice ). Until the middle of the 19th century, Sollenitz remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Hoch-Chlumetz with the allodial goods Skregssow , Hoysin and Přičow . The residents lived mainly from rafting.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Solenice / Sollenitz 1850 a district of the municipality Nepřejov in the judicial district Příbram . In 1868 Solenice was assigned to the Příbram district . From 1910 Solenice belonged as a district to the municipality Větrov.
In 1954, the preparatory work for the construction of the Orlík dam began southwest of Solenice. For this purpose, a siding was laid from Tochovice and a settlement was built for the construction workers. On July 12, 1959, construction began on the 91 m high concrete dam between the Bukovice and Na Kopcí hills. In 1960 water sports enthusiasts met for the last boat trip on the still undamped Vltava, after which the gates of the dam were closed on September 29, 1960. A housing estate was built in Solenice for the residents of the flooded villages Zbenické Zlákovice, Orlické Zlákovice and Těchnice, as well as for the employees of the Orlík hydropower plant and the Hamiro Příbram branch. In 1961 the seat of the municipality Větrov was moved to Solenice and the municipality was renamed Solenice.
When the Vltava floods in August 2002 , the maximum level of the Orlík dam was exceeded by 1.50 m and the dam overflowed in an uncontrolled manner. Solenice was partially flooded and the Vltava bridge destroyed. The heavy rainfall also turned the Bohostický potok and Líšnický potok into torrential scree-carrying rivers.
