history

The village, situated on the old salt road from Solenice via Vrškamýk to Prague , was probably built in the 12th century. The first written mention of Tba came in 1325, when King John of Luxembourg sold the Kamýk forests with the hunting rights and the villages located therein to Hermann von Miličín. The place was later called Tybity , in Hussite times as Tbity and then as Hibitt .

According to tradition, King Charles IV is said to have lost his way in the area on a hunt and in 1368 to thank the Church of St. John and gave the place the name Chybit . However, this occurrence cannot be documented. The special bond of Charles IV with Dolní Hbity is documented by the personal appointment of three pastors during his term of office, which is unique in Bohemian history. It is believed that the surrounding forests were among Karl's preferred hunting areas and that he selected men with exceptional education and culture for the pastor who he also stayed with during his stays.

During the Hussite Wars , the church was burned down by the Hussites . In the Thirty Years' War Dolní Hbity was set on fire and destroyed. During the war the village was sold to various nobles and eventually divided. Until 1714 the village belonged to the Podbrder district, after which it became part of the Berauner district . After the parish had expired for a long time, a pastor was reinstated in Dolní Hbity in 1782 by the religious fund.

In 1846, Unter-Hbit or Dolegšj Hbyti consisted of 35 houses with 217 inhabitants, including a Protestant family. 22 houses belonged to the Smolotel estate and 13 houses to the Milin estate . Under the patronage of the religious fund, the parish church of St. John the Baptist, the parish and the school. Unter-Hbit was the parish for Ober-Hbit ( Horní Hbity ), Jablona , Jelenetz ( Jelence ), Katzin ( Káciň ), Kalischt ( Kaliště ), Lischnitz ( Líšnice ), Luh ( Luhy ), Nepřegow ( Nepřejov ), Třti ( Třtí ) , Wapenitz , Wietrow ( Větrov ) and Smolotel. Until the middle of the 19th century, Unter-Hbit remained partially subordinate to the Milin and Smolotel estates.

After the abolition of patrimonial joined Dolní Hbyty / sub Hbyt and Horni Hbyty / Upper Hbyt from 1850 to the municipality Hbyty / Hbyt together in the judicial district Příbram. From 1868 the municipality belonged to the Příbram District . In the 1870s the municipality Hbyty was separated into the independent municipalities Dolní Hbyty and Horní Hbyty . Dolní Hbity has been used as a place name since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1932, 225 people lived in Dolní Hbity. At the beginning of 1976 Nepřejov (with Horní Líšnice and Kaliště) were incorporated. The incorporation of Jelence took place on April 1, 1976, that of Káciň and Luhy (with Třtí) on January 1, 1980.
