Volenice (German Wolenitz , also Wollenitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers west of Březnice and belongs to the Okres Příbram .

geography

Volenice is located on the edge of the Třemšín Nature Park in the southern foothills of the Brdská vrchovina . The village lies on a terrace on the right side of the Volenický creek. The Sklenený vrch ( Barbaraberg , 595 m) rises to the north, the Špalková hora (620 m) to the south, the Stráž (638 m) to the south-west and the Altán (669 m), Na Vrchu (695 m), Hradecký hřeben ( 721 m) and the Štěrbina (753 m). State road II / 179 runs south of Volenice between Březnice and Hvožďany .

Neighboring towns are Vševily in the north, Pročevily and Hlubyně in the northeast, Na Cihelně, Na Drahách, Sušárna, Bubovice, Martinice and Zliv in the east, Hudčice and Koupě in the southeast, Slavětín, Bělčice , Na Lukodech, Vratečín and Záhrobí in the south Leletice and Hvožďany in the southwest, Vacíkov, Líz and Chytava in the west and Hutě pod Třemšínem, Voltuš and Nouzov in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village Velenice took place in 1484. In 1506 the estate was attached to the Březnice manor. In 1586 the village consisted of eight farms and a chalet. In the berní rula of 1654, eight farms, including a rotten one, and three cottagers are reported for Volenice. In 1747 there were two mills in the village. When house numbers were introduced in 1770, there were 30 houses in Volenice.

In 1840 Wolenitz consisted of 37 houses with 248 inhabitants. There was an inn in the village. The parish was Bubowitz ( Bubovice ). Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the allodial rule of Březnitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Volenice / Wollenitz 1850 a district of the municipality Hučice in the district administration and the judicial district Breznitz. From 1868 Volenice belonged to the Blatná district. In 1877 Volenice broke away from Hučice and formed its own municipality. In 1911, a major fire destroyed the southern part of the village. In 1947 Volenice was connected to the electricity network. Nouzov (with Líz) was reassigned from Vacíkov to Volenice in 1948. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Blatná, Volenice was assigned to the Okres Příbram in 1960. In 1964 Bubovice and Pročevily were incorporated. On January 1, 1980 Hudčice (with Slavětín) and Koupě were incorporated, they broke up in 1993. Today 268 people live in the 52 houses in the Volenice district.

Community structure

The municipality of Volenice consists of the districts Bubovice ( Bubowitz ), Nouzov ( Not , formerly forest village ), Pročevily ( Protschewill ) and Volenice ( Wolenitz ) as well as the layers Na Cihelně, Na Drahách ( Drahy ), Líz ( Lis ), Sušárna and Zliv ( Zliw ).

Attractions

  • Parish Church of St. Wenceslas in Bubovice, it was built in the 14th century and is surrounded by a cemetery. There is a tomb under the presbytery. During the general repairs in 1907, a Gothic portal was discovered in the outer wall, and historical wall paintings were also found inside. The gravestones in the floor for Johann von Schweissing († 1483), Zdenko von Schweißing († 1496), Margarethe von Pořešín († 1529), Jan Dobřenský von Dobřenice († 1542) and Žitín von Myslovice were removed and placed in the Walls moved, the inscription on the tombstone of Žitín from Myslovice had already been lost due to the exit.
  • Church of St. Barbara on the Barbaraberg near Pročevily, the original chapel built by the Jesuits was enlarged in 1730 with the addition of a cloister to the church and looked after by a Jesuit missionary from St. Barbara.
