history

On the hill Šance above the confluence of the Mlýnský potok and Vlčava rivers there was the Slavic Bozeň Castle in the early Middle Ages , which was the center of the Bozeň region.

The first written mention of the Pozapl court belonging to the Březnice estate was in 1380 in connection with a Jadocus de Pozapl . Other forms of the name were Poczapl (1383), Poczap (1400) and Poczaplijch (1544). The village of Lhotka, one and a half kilometers east of Počaply, became extinct at the beginning of the 16th century and was mentioned as a desolate village between 1531 and 1595, later the Meierhof of the same name was built on its corridors. The Počapelský Mlýn mill below the village was established in 1543 and belonged to the Mirovice estate . In 1586 Počaply consisted of nine farmers and eight Chalupners. In 1629 Počaply had 22 properties, a Kretscham and a desert mill. In the berní rula from 1654 four long-established farmers, one newly settled and three depraved farms as well as twelve cottagers are reported for Počaply, all of whom were subject to Březnice. In addition, there was still the court that was under the Drahenice office. When house numbers were introduced in 1770, Počaply had 34 houses. In 1790 the village was called Pocžaple .

In 1840 Podčap , also called Kotzab , consisted of 41 houses with 267 inhabitants. There was an emphyteutic inn and an emphyteutic mill in the village. The Lhotka Meierhof and the Kahlberg Forestry House ( Holý Vrch ) were off the beaten track . A peasant economy belonged to the allodial rule Drahenitz . The parish was Březnitz. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the allodial rule of Březnitz.
