Dobrá Voda (German Gutwasser ) is a district of the city of Březnice in the Czech Republic . It is four kilometers east of Březnice and belongs to the Okres Příbram .

geography

Dobrá Voda is located on the left side of the Vlčava ( Mirowitz brook ) in the Central Bohemian hill country . The Protivín – Zdice railway runs through the village . In the east rises the Ohařská hora (518 m), south the Stražiště (507 m), in the southwest the Šance (512 m) and northwest the Vinice (538 m). To the north is the Žofín pond, in the northwest of the Hluboký rybnik.

Neighboring towns are Holandr and Starosedlský Hradek in the north, Školův Mlyn, Tušovice and Svojšice in the Northeast, Nestrašovice the east, Ohař, Řejvodův Mlyn, Boješice and Myslín the southeast, Strážiště and Na Pazdernách in the south, Počaply , Počapelský Mlyn and Martinice in the southwest, V Hamru and Bor in the west and Přední Poříčí, Zadní Poříčí, Chrást , Lisovice and Horčápsko in the northwest.

history

On the hill Šance above the confluence of the Mlýnský potok and Vlčava rivers there was the Slavic castle Bozeň in the early Middle Ages , the fortifications of which included the watch castle Hrádek and a settlement on the Stražiště hill. The Bozeň Castle was abandoned in the first half of the 13th century. On the opposite plateau, where the Hrádek Castle stood, Vladike Hroch had a new stone fortress built in the 13th century . This was named after him as Hrochův Hrádek . It fell into desolation at the end of the 16th century.

In 1642, the owner of the Březnice estate, Přibik Yenissek of Újezd, had one of the holy monks at a sulphurous and iron mineral spring discovered in the 17th century. Build a chapel dedicated to Mary Magdalene. In 1773, the district physician Dr. Buta the spring and found its water in a warmed state as healing for rheumatism, paralysis and skin diseases. Subsequently, the imperial counts Kolowrat -Krakowsky on Březnice had a stately bath house built with guest food not far from the chapel. In 1837 Gutwasser / Dobrá woda consisted of eleven houses with 101 inhabitants. There was a public chapel of St. Maria Magdalena, a hammer forge, a fulled cloth mill and an inn. To the northeast of the village lay the Hrad castle ruins . The parish and school location was Březnitz . Gutwasser remained subject to the Březnitz rule until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Dobra Voda / Gutwasser 1850 a district of the municipality Počaply in the district administration and the judicial district Písek Blatná. In the second half of the 19th century, the bath house was expanded into the Gutwasser spa. For the bathers, walking paths were created that led to the Holländischer Hof ( Holandr ) or in another direction over the Schwedenbrücke to the Schwedenschanze ( Šance ) and to Stražiště. Between 1873 and 1875 the Protivín – Zdice railway line was built in the Vlčava Valley , with the southern part of the Hrochův Hrádek ruins being demolished. In 1887 Dobrá Voda broke away from Počaply and joined the Bor community. The bathing operation was stopped in the 20th century. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Blatná, the village was assigned to the Okres Příbram in late 1960 . At the beginning of 1976 Dobrá Voda was incorporated into Březnice together with Bor . In 1991 Dobrá Voda had 28 inhabitants, at the 2001 census 25 people lived in the 14 houses.

Attractions

  • Chapel of St. Maria Magdalena, the octagonal building was built in 1642 according to plans by Carlo Lurago . In the years 1992–1997 the chapel was renovated.
  • Statue of St. Francis of Assisi next to the chapel, it is the work of the sculptor Jan Hammer and was erected in 1798.
  • Former spa from the 19th century. After the cessation of bathing operations, the building was initially used as a boarding school in the 20th century , and later as a barracks for the castle guard . There are two plaques attached to the spa stays in the unused building today Sokol -Organisators Miroslav Tyrš remember and the politician January Podlipný.
  • Šance Hill with Bozeň Castle , it is considered an archaeological site.
  • Hrochův Hrádek ruins at the eastern end of the village
  • Memorial stone for the Sweden Bridge ( Švédský most ), the stone sky bridge over the Vlčava was built in 1715 on the initiative of the owner of the Březnice estate, Josef von Újezd, and with the permission of Marie Ernestina von Eggenberg , the owner of the Myslín estate , to which the opposite bank of the river belonged , built. The bridge was demolished in 1963.
