Kotenčice (German Kotentschitz , formerly also Kottenschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northeast of the city center of Příbram and belongs to the Okres Příbram .

geography

Kotenčice is located in the Dobříšská pahorkatina ( Dobrian hill country ). The village lies above the confluence of the Suchodolský potok in the valley of the brook Kotenčický potok. Kotenčice is surrounded by several larger ponds; in the village is the Návesní rybník, west of the Hluboký rybník, northwest of the Pilka and south of the Chlumský rybník fed by the Suchodolský potok. To the south is the Příbram airfield. To the north rises the Kamenný vrch (486 m nm), in the south the Velký Chlum (481 m nm), southwest of the Kosovec (505 m nm), in the west of the Katov (487 m nm) and northwest of the Sedlo (471 m nm) .

Neighboring towns are Kamenný Dvůr, Malá Buková, Vackov and Holšiny in the north, Rosovice and Lhotka in the northeast, Obořiště and Druhlice in the east, Ostrov and Dlouhá Lhota in the southeast, Skalka and Cihelna in the south, Suchodol in the southwest, U Kostinků, Žecírovy and Kardavecrovy in the east West as well as Pičín , Vršek (near Pičín), Chlum, Buková and Vršek (near Buková) in the northwest.

The first written mention of Kotenčice was in 1382 as the property of Petr von Kotenčice, at that time the estate was administered by the neighboring Bukowa estate. Later, Messrs Bechinie von Lazan acquired the Kotenčice estate and joined it to the Pičín estate. In 1515, Peter Bechinie from Lazan on Buková connected the Kotenčice estate with Bukowa. In 1592 Juliane Borowska von Lazan bequeathed her goods Bukowa, Wobecnitz , Deutsch Lhota , Pitschin , Rosowitz and Kotentschitz to her daughter Ludmilla. In 1618 Ferdinand Rudolf von Lazan acquired the Bukowa estate. The Bechinie von Lazan family held the estate until 1705. Later, Vilém Boryně ze Lhoty acquired the combined Bukowa and Kotenčice estate. He was followed by František Boryně ze Lhoty. Around 1770 Kaspar Bora acquired the Bukowa and Kotenčice estate, followed by his widow Barbara, nee Baroness Enis von Atter. In 1787 Joseph Enis von Atter owned the estate. In 1809 Pauline von Hohenzollern-Hechingen acquired the estate; From 1810 it belonged to the Imperial and Royal General Ferdinand Ludwig von Wartensleben , who sold Bukowa and Kotenčice in 1813 to the Prague wholesaler Sigmund Goldstein. After 1828 his widow Elisabeth Goldstein inherited the estate; she sold it in 1846 to Franz de Paula Gundaccar II von Colloredo-Mannsfeld , who attached it to his rule Dobřisch .

In 1846 the Bukowa and Kotentschitz estate comprised a usable area of ​​1735 yoke 1368 square fathoms. The two villages Bukowa and Kotentschitz belonged to the estate. The village of Kotentschitz or Kotenčic consisted of 37 houses with 240 inhabitants. In the village there was an official castle, a farmyard , a sheep farm and a mill with a board saw. The parish was Pitschin . Until the middle of the 19th century, Kotentschitz remained subject to the Dobřisch rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Kotenčice / Kotentschitz 1850 a district of the municipality Buková in the judicial district Dobříš. From 1868 the village belonged to the Příbram district . In 1890, 288 Czech-speaking residents lived in the 45 houses of Kotenčice. Kotenčice broke away from Buková around 1920 and formed its own municipality. In 1932 there were 237 people in Kotenčice. From 1949 Kotenčice belonged to the newly formed Okres Dobříš, after its abolition the community was again part of the Okres Příbram in 1960. Kotenčice kept its rural character until the 1950s. On April 1, 1976, Kotenčice was incorporated into Suchodol . Since July 1, 1990, the Kotenčice municipality exists again. Today most of the inhabitants work in Příbram, only a small part is still active in agriculture.

Attractions

  • Kotenčice Castle, the late baroque building was built in the second half of the 18th century instead of a fortress. In the second half of the 20th century, the castle served as a residential building for the JZD Dlouhá Lhota. The former mansion is now privately owned and has been renovated.
