Franz de Paula Gundaccar II von Colloredo-Mansfeld (born November 18, 1802 in Vienna , † May 29, 1852 in Graefenberg ) was an Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal .

Life

Born as the son of Count Hieronymus II von Colloredo-Mansfeld . During his studies he became a member of the Old Prague Burschenschaft Teutonia in 1819 and was a member of the fraternity circle in Vienna in 1819 . He joined the army in 1824 and made a quick career here. 1838 Colonel of the 1st Jäger Battalion. Appointed major general in 1848 , he first commanded a brigade in Trieste and then became the commandant of the Theresienstadt fortress . From there he took part in the suppression of the uprising in Prague and led his brigade in the siege of Vienna in October 1848. In the campaign against the revolution in Hungary in 1848/49 he distinguished himself in the battle of Kápolna and then led a division on the Great Schütt Island during the siege of Komorn (September 1849) . In 1850 he was appointed the owner of Infantry Regiment No. 36 and was given supreme command of the II Army Corps.

After the death of his uncle Rudolf Joseph II von Colloredo-Mannsfeld in 1844 he inherited his rule Dobřisch and the goods Bukowa and Kotenčic , Langen-Lhota and Slowansko, Heiligenfeld and Suchydol . His daughter Wilhelmine Josephine comes from his marriage to Christine von Clam-Gallas , a daughter of Christian Christoph Clam-Gallas .
