The Maleny National Park (English Maleny National Park ) is an 18 square kilometer national park in Queensland , Australia .

location

It is located in the Wide Bay-Burnett region in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast about 92 kilometers north of Brisbane and 150 kilometers south of Hervey Bay . The tripartite park is located within the triangle of Curramore , Mapleton and Kenilworth . From the main roads along Obi Obi Creek in the north and the Mary River in the south, numerous paths lead into the park. There are no visitor facilities.

The National Parks Mapleton , Mapleton Falls , Kondalilla and Conondale are in the vicinity .

Flora and fauna

Located along the Blackall Range , up to 570 meters high , the Maleny National Park protects subtropical rainforest .

Many birds have been spotted in the park, including the endangered marble Schwalm ( Podargus ocellatus plumiferus ) and the almost endangered (Engl. Near threatened ) Rußeule ( Tyto tenebricosa ). Frogs such as the Tusked Frog ( Adelotus brevis ), Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog ( Litoria fallax ), Eastern Stony Creek Frog ( Litoria wilcoxii ) and Great Barred Frog ( Mixophyes fasciolatus ) are native to the park, as are ten different species from the Skink family .
