The Beeron National Park (English Beeron National Park ) is a 70 square kilometer national park in Queensland , Australia .

location

It is located in the Wide Bay-Burnett region in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast about 235 kilometers northwest of Brisbane and 170 kilometers southwest of Hervey Bay . The closest city is Mundubbera . From here you can reach the park via Mundubbera-Durong Road to the south. After about 50 kilometers you will pass the national park 5 kilometers away. Except for a few unpaved forest roads, there are neither publicly accessible paths nor visitor facilities.

The national parks Beninbi , Woroon , Auburn River and Bunya Mountains are in the vicinity .

Flora and fauna

The national park protects open eucalyptus forest up to 520 meters high with two threatened regional ecosystems that have not been protected in any other park so far (as of 2010).

Many birds are native to the park, including Dick beak cracticinae ( Strepera graculina ) mane geese and considered vulnerable (ger .: near threatened ) classified silver falcon ( Falco hypoleucos ). Even the smallest bird in Australia, the stutzschnabel ( Smicrornis brevirostris ), can be observed here.

More than 10 different species of the mimosa family can be found in the national park, including the endangered Acacia eremophiloides and the milkweed family Bertya granitica, which is classified as threatened .
