The Mount Spurgeon National Park (English Mount Spurgeon National Park ) is a 11.9 square kilometer national park in Queensland , Australia . It is part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland UNESCO World Heritage Site .
location
The park is located in the Far North Queensland region about 80 kilometers northwest of Cairns and 18 kilometers west of Mossman . It borders directly on Mount Lewis and the Daintree National Park . There are no visitor facilities.
Flora and fauna
The park protects primary , tropical rainforest around the 1322 meter high Mount Spurgeon . This species-rich habitat is home to a wide variety of amphibians , including the critically endangered tree frogs such as the Common Mistfrog ( Litoria rheocola ), the Tapping Green Eyed Frog ( Litoria serrata ), the Australian Lace-lid ( Nyctimystes dayi ) and the Waterfall Frog ( Litoria nannotis) ); from the family of the Australian southern frogs the Northern Tinker Frog ( Taudactylus rheophilus ) and the Sharp Snouted Day Frog ( Taudactylus acutirostris ) which is already considered extinct in some places.
