The Finucane Island National Park (English Finucane Island National Park ) is an approximately 76 km² national park in Queensland , Australia .

The park is located in the Gulf Country region and is approximately 30 km northeast of Burketown .
Facilities and access
There are no paths or visitor facilities in the park. It can only be reached by boat, either across the Albert or Leichhardt River , Landsborough Inlet or the Gulf of Carpentaria .
National nature
Although the island can only be reached by boat, the Finucane Island National Park is part of mainland Australia. It is surrounded by canals and watercourses and comprises a mosaic of estuaries , wetlands, salt flats with isolated sand-couch grassland and mangroves . The wetlands take up a large part of the park and are an important habitat for fish and water birds. Dugongs , the only herbivorous marine mammals, live in the seagrasses off the coast .
