The Nerang National Park (English: Nerang National Park ) is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland . It is located 70 kilometers south of Brisbane and twelve kilometers northwest of Surfers Paradise on the northwestern outskirts of Nerang .

The national park is known for its variety of birds, trails, and views. This makes it popular with mountain bikers, hikers and bird watchers.

National nature

The park's terrain is hilly and about 100 meters above sea level, eight kilometers from the coast. The Coombabah Creek and the Salt Water Creek flow through the park. The soils are clay and limestone.

The Southern Moreton Bay Islands , Tamborine , Sarabah and Burleigh Head national parks are in the vicinity .

Flora and fauna

The park consists of light forest with different types of eucalyptus and some dry rainforest in the valleys.

An abundance of native and introduced animals live in this forest.

recreation

Nerang National Park is used for all kinds of sports, such as horse riding and mountain biking. In 2009 the mountain bike world championships for the under 15 year olds were held here. There are many paths in the park for the fire brigade and other forest paths that can be used for horse riding, cycling and hiking. There are also two landscaped trails, the Casuarina Grove Circuit (2.7 kilometers plus an 800 meter loop) and the Three Hills Track (2 kilometers).
