The Thrushton National Park (English: Thrushton National Park ) is a national park in the south of the Australian state of Queensland . It is 520 kilometers west of Brisbane and 90 kilometers west-northwest of St. George .
National nature
The park in the Darling Downs consists of flat stand and steppe land. There are remains of the former use as pasture for sheep.
flora
Thick Mulgage scrub stretches over the national park . Spinifex grass and dry, light eucalyptus forest grow on the sandy plains .
Driveway
Thrushton National Park can be reached via the Balonne Highway ( Mourilyan exit ). An unpaved road leads north from the highway via the Mourilyan settlement and reaches the park after 25 kilometers. Driving on the access road is only possible in dry weather and only with all-wheel drive vehicles.
