The Balonne Highway is a trunk road in the south of the Australian state of Queensland . It connects the Carnarvon Highway (R46, A55) and the Castlereagh Highway (A55) in St. George with the Mitchell Highway (A71) and the Bulloo Developmental Road in Cunnamulla .

The highway designated as State Road 49 is the continuation of the Moonie Highway (S49) to the west. It is named after the Balonne River , on which the city of St. George lies, and is part of the Adventure Way . There are no major cities between St. George and Cunnamulla.

The highest point on the highway is at 234 m, the lowest at 180 m. The maximum gradient is 5%.
