The Balonne River is a river in the south of the Australian state of Queensland .
East of Condamine it is called Condamine River and then changes its name. This is because different explorers explored and named rivers in different places, and it was only later that it was discovered that it was the same river. But the traditional names remained. The Balonne River flows to the southwest, where it splits into several rivers at Dirranbandi in a floodplain.
To the west branches off there from the Culgoa River , which joins 67 kilometers west of the city of Brewarrina with the Barwon River to form the Darling River . The other arm continues to be called the Balonne River , but soon splits into the Bokhara River and Narran River . The Bokhara River flows into the Barwon River after around 160 kilometers. The Narran River flows in a wetland into the outflowless Narran Lake .
